Undercliffe Cemetery, Bradford
Data from Memorial Inscriptions
Undercliffe Cemetery was opened as a private burial ground in 1854 by the Bradford Cemetery Company.
This fully searchable CD-ROM contains data recorded between 1979 and 2010 from 7,271 accessible* inscribed memorials, including over 22,000 entries with surnames, of which about 21,000 quote a date of death. The majority also include either age at death or year of birth. About 20% include other family information and 375 memorials record deaths between 1751 and 1854, which is before the cemetery opened.
*There are about 1,800 other memorials which have not been recorded. This is due mainly to the difficulty in accessing and/or locating graves in areas of the cemetery left to nature, and recent interments in areas currently being used for interments.
The CD-ROM also contains a brief history of the cemetery and a plan of the cemetery showing the areas transcribed and several photographs.
All the data is in PDF format which is fully searchable. PDF files require Adobe Reader to be installed on the users computer and a copy of Adobe Reader Version 6 for Windows is included on the CD.
System requirements: Windows 95 or later, Monitor display of 800x600 or higher. Also usable on a Mac.
